Introducing our new School Houses

Extraordinary people who are Kind, Strong and Brave

You may remember ever since the summer we have been getting ideas for our school houses. Now the students are settled we pulled all the ideas together and worked with the school leaders to make a decision. We chose people from all over the world who inspire us, people who sum up the values of our school and the Bolder way. Men and women who are Kind, Strong and Brave. The people the houses have been named after are

Frieda Kahlo

A Mexican artist Kahlo explored questions of identity, gender and social class.  She suffered from debilitating illnesses but showed great strength and determination.

Alan Turing

A brilliant mathematician and founder of computer science, Turing was also a great believer of those in need.
He was prosecuted and punished for his relationship with another man and through prejudice lost his job.

Marie Curie

Physicist and chemist, Curie conducted pioneering research and radioactivity. She became the first professor at university of Paris.

Jesse Owens

Winning four gold medals in the 1936 Olympics, Owens was the most successful athlete at the Games. He defied Hitler’s vision of white supremacy.

Emeline Pankhurst

Pankhurst, a suffragette, fought for women to have vote. She was arrested numerous times because of her belief that men and women are equal.

Malala Yousafzai

Malala was a Pakistan political activist who campaigned for girls to have the right to go to school. At the age of 15 Malala was shot in the head by the Taliban. She is also a staunch campaigner against terrorism.
