All the way from the island of Curaçao in the Caribbean, Coral Live kicked off on the 29th October with live streaming from CARMABI Research Centre on the island. Coral reefs cover less than 1 percent of the marine environment, but are home to 25 percent of marine species. It is estimated that 1 billion people depend on food from the reefs. Exploring this fascinating topic will bring corals to life for classrooms around the world.
Bolder Academy students connected live with the Digital Explorer field education team and marine scientists in the Caribbean to discuss issues related to science and geography. Jamie Buchanan-Dunlop and Ellie Mackay will be engaging students worldwide in the wonders of coral reefs and the human impact on these fragile ecosystems, and will be live to answer our students’ questions.
