In September 30 of our new sports leaders teamed up with 25 volunteers from Sky Sports to arrange a sports festival for all 150 Bolder Academy Students and 80 students from local primary schools. The sports on show were Karate, Rugby, Athletics, Basketball, Tennis and street dancing and community coaches from each sport were on hand to lead the sessions.
Chris Parrott, Sky Sports volunteer said:
For us who work in sport this was a great opportunity to be reminded of that first moment where we found a life-long-passion. For some of us it was watching an amazing goal on TV, or seeing our Mum playing in a local netball match or hearing stories of our Dad’s rugby career. The hope is, that for some of the students who took part in the day, this would be that moment for them. To be a part of it was tremendously rewarding and well worth the burst eardrums and warn out voice boxes!
